Whidbey Volleyball Club is excited to announce new club director Michelle Manlangit. Michelle will be taking over the reigns from current director and U14 coach, Melanie Hopkins, whose family will be changing station to the East Coast in August. The club has been so lucky to have Melanie as the director to keep the club afloat during the pandemic and getting the club going again afterwards. We wish Melanie and her family the best as they continue their journey in the Navy!
Michelle has taken over the reigns in the past few weeks and has slowly been updating the website and is working hard to prepare for summer and next season. She has an extensive coaching background with a total of 20 years of experience, most recently being the Varsity Head Coach and Program Director for Bishop Blanchet High School in Seattle from 2010 to 2017. She also coached for 12 years for Sudden Impact Volleyball Club in Bellevue, WA with a previous tenure of Varsity Assistant Coach at Bishop Blanchet, helping them win a State Title in 2003.
Michelle is excited to take WVC to the next level while also keeping our small town roots and values. We want to bring the best volleyball to the island and are looking forward to working with our community to make it happen!
