Michelle Manlangit

Club Director

I grew up in Shoreline, Washington and attended and played at Bishop Blanchet High School in Seattle. I attended and played for Seattle University as a defensive specialist (pre-libero days!) and graduated with a BS in Computer Science. I worked as a Software Developer for about 15 years until about 2017.

I've been coaching since I was in high school - beginning with little 4th graders in Seattle's CYO Volleyball League, all the way to high school Varsity and have coached at the collegiate level as well (I volunteered for a year at Seattle University). I've taken teams to the State playoffs and have won a State Championship as an assistant to the Varsity coach. My most recent coaching tenure was back at my alma mater Bishop Blanchet as the volleyball program director and Varsity Head Coach from 2010 to 2017. Before that, I coached with Sudden Impact VBC in Bellevue for about 10 years. With SIVB, I took a few teams to USAV Jr. Nationals, but have also had my share of "not so winning" seasons. I have experience in coaching young, beginner players to Division 1 NCAA players, and everything in between.

I love the game, playing and coaching, and love to teach and learn along with my colleagues, kids, and players. My family and I moved to Oak Harbor in December of 2020 and have been loving the town and the island ever since. I am currently a stay at home mom, but also have my own natural skincare and candle business called "Whidbey Island Soap House" and sell my products in the Whidbey Island Crafter's Market on Pioneer.

I am so grateful for this opportunity to work with local coaches and our little volleyball community that we have here on the island.
